Residential course options
We offer both Bed & Breakfast accomodation along with a fully equipped self catering cottage to students who would like to stay while attending the shorebased courses.
Brooklands is an interesting house with parts of it dating back 350 years. We completely renovated the house when we bought it 12 years ago and can offer 2 en-suite Bed & Breakfast rooms, one a double the other a twin. We make a nominal charge of £25 per person per night and will include the option of a free dinner the first night you arrive.
We let the self catering cottage out for £40 per night - the cottage has a double bed, freeview flat screen TV, wi-fi, woodburner and fully equipped kitchen (new in 2009).
Local information
Situated in the heart of the Tamar Valley, a designated area of outstanding natural beauty, Brooklands nestles on the edge of the village of Metherell. There are two pubs in the village, the Carpenters Arms (15th century)is just a 2 minute walk from the house and The Cross House is only 5 minutes. Both offer evening meals and a tradional Cornish welcome.
There are some fabulous walks from the house, especially down to the national trust sites of Cotehele House, Quay and Mill on the Tamar River, only 1 mile away.
